What a cool church camp it has been! We had it in Allson Klana Resort, Seremban... as we did last year! But this year was different cos we had a party theme of '70's Nite' or you can call it 'Retro Nite' or even Saturday Nite Fever! Hehehe... I was in Team Lavender (which was supposed to be purple). (FYI, Orange Team won this year).ANYWAYS, what I liked about this year's church camp was that the sermons were short yet precise! (Malcolm Du Plesis was our speaker).
1) Authenticity
-As a church unit, we are authentic. As a person, we are authentic. We should not conform to what others want us to be/do or what they think we should be/do. We ought to know who we are in Christ and from that knowing, LIVE it!
2) Discovering reasons as a church & an individual why we are in CLGC
- There was a sense of freedom when everyone was given the opportunity to speak up - Reasons why we came to CLGC, reasons why we are still in CLGC (in spite of what has happened to the church) and what do we want to see changed while we are still here.
As every one were taking turns to turn in their views, I felt such a burst of freedom amongst us as a church. Many things were pent up and was re-surfaced which was soooooo good! Because I believe that as we move towards rebuilding this broken foundation, we need to understand the fundamentals of how to build before proceeding to stacking bricks where leaders THINK/ FEEL it should be...in the same sense as marketing - we need to understand the market before marketing the new brand. Hence, a focus group needs to be in place.
To answer the questions above... for me, I came to CLC because my mom brought us here. I'm still here because I know in my heart that I am called to serve where He has placed me and I'm not ready to leave cos this place has been my church, my home...and even my playground :) And I've grown to love it and love the people in it based on the relationships which has been formed.
3) Learn not to take offense in other peopls' words/actions
(I think it speaks for itself)

As for Retro Nite, it was super fun!!! We danced the night away...Unfortunately, Lionel wasn't around to enjoy the night with us. He was only there for dinner and had to leave for his futsal tourney back in KL... Yep, he came back by 12:45am... :)
All in all, we had a blast! Wish I had pictures to prove it but I would have to 'sangkut' from someone else first...hehehe... :P
